About Me

Paige Prestipino, LGPC

Hello, I am so glad you are here and taking the first step towards helping yourself and gaining more control over your health.

Taking care of your mental health can seem like an overwhelming task, especially while trying to maintain everything else in life, like a career, other responsibilities, relationships, our physical health, leisure time, and more. Adding “fixing your mental health” to the list can seem impossible. That is why I am here. As a therapist, I am dedicated to helping my clients learn how to support their mental health in ways that are not only backed by research, but also applicable and easily attainable.

I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland. I earned my Master of Education, School Counseling at Loyola University in Baltimore Maryland and went on to finish the Masters Plus Program -Clinical Counseling at Loyola University. Upon graduating I was employed by the Montgomery County Public School System (MCPS) as a high school counselor, where I served students and families while I transitioned to working in private practice. I am approaching 4 years working full time in private practice as a licensed mental health therapist where I work with a diverse population ranging in age from middle school-aged individuals to elder adulthood.

I work with specific mental health diagnoses like anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, postpartum, and more. Among other topics, I also see clients for things like grief and loss, stress, burn-out, uncertainty, low self-esteem, identity development, career stressors, school struggles, difficult life transitions, pregnancy and motherhood, miscarrying, postpartum, complicated family and relationship dynamics, communication skills, organization and executive functioning skills, self-care, grounding skills, emotional regulation, and more.

I am certified in grief counseling and take special interest in providing a safe space for people who are facing tragic loss. I also take special interest in working with adults with ADHD, postpartum, and those navigating life with chronic illness. I am trained in group therapy and run topic-specific counseling groups periodically throughout the year.

My work is considered “client-centered”, which means that therapy looks different for each client since my work revolves around the unique needs and wants of each client. I take many things into consideration when working with my clients. For example, development and age, past traumas, family order and relationships, culture, religion (if applicable), lifestyle, physical health, and more. My work includes strategies and principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, Narrative, Family Systems, and Mindfulness.

Empowering my clients to feel confident and fully equipped to manage their lives and achieve their goals while maintaining good mental health is at the heart of what I do.
